Nick Drake radio for sleepless nights

I think I am hooked to listening to Nick Drake station in Pandora, before going to bed. Downside being I just want to keep listening than falling asleep. Just pure bliss with folk rock melodies of all times. Oh and the awesomeness of every new songs that you hear that you never heard before and think you really were missing on something.

Anyway hello world again :) after a hiatus I am back and I plan to continue blogging from now on. I think it's fun if not now - will be in the future for me.

Oh yeah and Goodnight.

Blogging on the Plane

Flight to Omaha

What do you do when you have the sudden feel to blog at an elevation of 30000 ft. You open up notes in the mobile device and start writing with your thumbs as fast as you can and feel happy about it. I am doing this for a record - yes a personal one.

First, the Go Go in-flight Internet rate is so expensive I simply want to hack it. For that I could have downloaded the shell from Dallas airport! I might be able to bypass the proxy. Arghh never mind.

Anyway I am going to Omaha for the Mojo Rides concert and I am excited about it. I do miss my Marshall and my line6 effects at least which I suppose is not stolen.

Another thing I am excited about is that my brother just got 21 and for the first time we are officially entering a bar without any false measures. I am gonna buy him some drinks!

Oh yes it does feel good a day off from work. I feel like I'll simply shut down my work phone altogether until the weekend. It's rock and roll weekend for me and I gotta live up to it. Enough grey hair already.

Right now I am at the Dallas airport waiting to board the plane to Omaha. I look at people around and this is funny! Everyone is bored as fuck as I am. I hate waiting and the last thing I'd want to do in my life is wait.

By the way met a pretty lady who works for vogue next to my seat.

Return flight to Phoenix

Lots of things in my mind! It was an awesome concert though I didnt play. I got to meet my brother's new roommates and celebrate his birthday party. I think I have gained almost ten lbs (feels like). It was a great catching up with old friends from Omaha. Also luckily got to see an air show at Offut Air base in Nebraska.
Most interestingly what do you do when you feel heavy turbulence on the flight and the lady next to you is reading "The anatomy of a plane crash"?

With or Without You

It was such an awesome show put by U2, YouTube for You all(including me).

I cant wait to see the traffic reports within the Internet core links tomorrow, when I wake up.

Awesome state of mind before I sleep. The song ringing on my head - with or without you.

Pretty Much Nothing!

So a long weekend is coming to an end. One of the reasons I am writing this is to keep up with doing things that I have ignored for too long. Recently, something weird has happened to me. I have many to-dos at work and outside work. But I haven't been able to concentrate or even take my time out to do the work. With writing this, I am opening up a sliding window with a buffer of time(60*60s). I hope by the end of it, i would be able to look back and feel like I have accomplished at least a thing. Yes, I wrote a blog entry! After quite long!

A pretty nice movie is ON and actually its getting interesting by the minute. I might even finish off the movie first. Its called New York City Serenade. Or rather keep this blog post short. Or Multi-task - May be.

If this blog acts as a reminder, Please note the deadlines, ELF!

- By the end of September, you gotta submit the Chapter to your Professor for review before publishing it. At the same time, Talk to him about the draft of the other paper you submitted and work on it too.

- You have to complete a presentation by tomorrow's end and I know you dont even have the details of what-to-present. Work on it either today, or tomorrow! DONT FORGET!

- Go ahead and buy a nice traveling suitcase for next week. Call friends and Make sure you let me know you're gonna visit them after the workshop. You suck at keeping up with relationships.

- Work out a little more. It really helps you rejuvenate of all the stress that you have been into lately. Trust me! And do some more crunches too.

- You are NOT a singer. So stop singing like you are. But anyway, talk to your brother about what songs you might want to play on the concert few months later. Perhaps that'd be a nice time to have a vacation too. Arrange for it at your work.

- Get used to doing things alone. Go to Movies alone, Restaurants alone, Events alone. One of the reasons you're not yourself is because you think you need a company to have fun. NO! You need your will and yourself! Just dont drink and drive. Learn to have fun without drinking out. You may always drink @ home.

- Prioritize Life's important matters. Work for it a little more than how you are doing right now. But please make sure, you know what you are doing, rather than just doing it for the heck of it. I know overtime, you have come up to be a pretty focused, determined individual. Still, work on it more!

I cant think much as of right now, but when you read this .. Remember these words are tied with a WHIP.

1-hr story (Fiction)

A man walking down the aisle fell down. Turns out he was fat. Turns out the center of Mass fell right on his belly. He stood up thinking about all the Junk food he had till this day. Cursed Wendy's and walked away.

***

A fat lady struggling hard to cross the intersection put a man taking the right turn into fumes.

"Hey, Fat Bitch! Can you do any better than this?"

The fat lady tried walking a little fast but she couldnt. This man had a fight with his wife over the uncalled-for expenditure that the wife put on her dresses. The Man worked on a pretty good company but was always with a fear of getting laid off, while his wife worked as a teacher in a neighboring middle school. She had to look pretty and she had to show off more than they could afford.

***

A nice M6 Coupe parks in front of a low-cost-rent apartment parking lot. He looks like he got all in his pocket, if not his bank account. Shiny Shoes and Shiny Armor! Almost a Black Knight! Walks straight onto the stairs to APT 420 and rings the bell. Almost two hours later, the man comes down and drives away and never to be seen in another 3-6 months.

***

I go to college and I don't earn f()cking money. I spend most of my money on tuition and watch the world as it is. I don't think its even worth earning for all the trouble it seems to give to people. I enjoy seeing people and checking out their DRAMA! I enjoy thinking about where they are heading to and what they have become when they don't seem to have the slightest clue of what they are looking for.

Today I hear three news from my friends.

* Microsoft is laying off 5000 workers. Microsoft is the reason why I was studying, MAN!
* One of my friends' girlfriend moved away from his life since he was a douche-bag. (I always thought douche-bag "too" deserve to be loved).
* XMING is asking for donations and they would allow you to download only when you donate money. I thought Open Source was ......

"STOP IT! GEEKS FAIL! I MEAN GEEKS FAIL TOO!"

Me and my friends were DREAMERS in college. We dreamt about an start-up on somebody's basement someday. My Mom used to tell me "Never give up on what you want to do. It is not the satisfaction of achieving it, It is the satisfaction of getting close". Looked like everyone of my friends believed the same. Or at least, their Moms told them the same thing.

We had started this college website where guys could register and trade stuff! The sole motivation 'though' was not to be like MARK but you know try to get attention of CATHY.

"MARK WHO?"

Mark Zuckerberg!

"Ohh! Dream on F()ckerberg!"

Sure. Will do!

***

I am at this bar and this lady looks at me like she wants to talk to me. She comes close to me and says "Can you buy me a drink?". No, I reply! She goes away. I take out my blackberry and post a status in facebook.

"Why cant some people buy their own drink?"
"Woooooo. Whats the matter, bud?"
"Ke bhayo. GF lai ho? hehehe"
"Are you broke Dude? Tell me, I will give you some money. You know what you gotta do ;) "
"Asshole"

An interesting thing I note is my girlfriend likes the status.

***

I suddenly get an urge to write something. Something that just goes random. Not in any order, nor in any motive or in any sense. Like something you can write and forget and never have to think about again. Writers don't think much either is what I always believed. And No I am not a writer.

So there is your 1-hour story, which proves Boredom breeds Insanity! Print it and Wipe your Nose with it!

Thanks & Regards.

BECK, YOU DID IT!

BECK'S!

America's No. 1 imported beer from Germany!

That is how the weekend kicks off formally. And No I ain't drunk yet. I have promises to keep and a long way to go before I sleep.

First Question. Have you ever cared about someone so much that you want them to appear in the scene when they think its the right time, than you thinking NOW is the right time?

Second Question. Have you ever felt so helpless and restless that someone you really care for is having some tough times and you are not really there to care for?

Third Question. Have you ever thought about the consequences that follows when they think you didn't do your best whereas you thought you'd just wait from an input from them.

Fourth Question. Is it always you have to "PROVE" something or some things are just so obvious you can do NOTHING!

I am stopping the questions, apparently of the fear of being called a DRUNK BLOGGER.

Prayers to God, and Blessings to my Sperm!

And tonight

I sleep with so many questions in my head!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

So , is ELF dead already?

The simple answer is NO.

"PROVE IT"

Sure. Here he is!

Life has been rolling dice(s) on him. He's been changing places, circles, employers! Blame it on the employers not able to sustain him for long cos of their companies running on budget-deficit investment/growth. Well and blame it on him too cos he doesn't want to stick to one as there is always a better opportunity ahead.

He moves from Midwest to Northeast and is driving down West pretty soon. Actually next Sunday, he's setting off for the longest trip he's ever taken. Boston to Phoenix. Talk about "changes" in his life!

"Neologism" has vanished from his life, it seems. Last time he coined a word was "Freaktards" when he was storming out in anger. You know that means "Freaking B***tards" right? Most of all, now he got people wary about his words and thoughts and actions. He was complaining about a group of people calling him a man whore. That is how he stands out and he cant help people judging him either. But he felt it was good letting such company off his life that does NOT criticism but plain HATRED. He said to me later, he was not upset about being called a man whore, but upset about losing respect a little that he ever had among the peers he hung out with. Good thing about Online relationships is you can let go pretty easy!

The reason for this blog is NOT vents! Its rather something interesting.

Most of the visitors to this blog come from Google. And you might find it weird, but the keyword that makes the highest number of unique visitors is "Ravan". May be you can get lucky with that keyword as well. And Mind it, I have nothing, whatsoever, concerned with Ramayan or Ravan in my personal blog.

But even interesting. Today, there was a visitor from tang-one-thirty-three.mit.edu with following credentials.
Referrer http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=how+to+screw+a+professor
Search Engine Google
Keywords how, screw, professor

Talk about the students anywhere. They want to screw their professors so bad no matter the expertise! : )

Will be back shortly.

So - is it a new beginning?

Great Anticipations, of course!

New President, New Status, New Job, New Place(May be), New Circle(May be), New Band. There's so much to look forward to. 2008 had been eventful no doubts, but would 2009 stand up to its mark? Perhaps new ventures that is incomparable to the ones in 2008. Surety : I'll be Off Academics and would plan to be off a little longer this time. Forever? Shall see.

To Mark 2008's achievements, they even added a LEAP SECOND. Who they - dont ask!

There was a nice turnout of crowd on the "Mojo Rides" concert. Had some stunts and more important- tried to improve on performance spirits! It was superb, at least, on my standards. Too bad - didn't capture the excitement. Good though that some moments last for a three hour span, and memories of it last forever!

Changes are bound to happen in the year ahead, but 2008 remained pretty as what i had expected.

Expectations and Predictions and Wishes!

=> YAHOO! - please seriously consider revising efforts! I am a big fan of YAHOO! no matter how they suck now - in economic terms! I hope i were in the 2000 era and made predictions! I would have predicted YAHOO would buy Google sometime around in 2002. But wait, i didnt even start blogging then. I was too busy with Yahoo Geocities! And the deal maker was a sucker!

=> OMAHA - A growing city, A revering affection cos i've stayed in here for too long for me to be staying at any place. You're a growing city - but increase the pace. Acknowledge and accept changes to its best! With the advent of three giants MS, Yahoo! and Google, Now you'd have to lure plenty start-ups! Good Luck for the years ahead.

=> POKHARA - Not been to PKR, for some years now. But, same with you! Hope you catch up the investors and build more businesses and keep comparable to the capital city.

=> ELF - F you Dude! You don't even deserve a prediction. I know you'd sloth bad! But Hopefully, you'd spend more time productive than talking to random people, talking random things and being a ROMEO around! I know you wont! ; ) You're a born flirt!

Happy New Year wishes to all!

Cognition!

I am equally 'unaware' of the word as you probably are. So lets drill this together!

cog·ni·tion n. The mental process of knowing, including aspects such as awareness, perception, reasoning, and judgment.

How would you think that your knowledge differs from that of your peers? Do you even believe it does? Or are you the one who's looking for a peer with a perfect match always? Do you equally argue as you agree to each other?

I have been an ardent admirer of "differences". I talk to people to know how different the individual is. Of course, i got a swelled head when we run into arguments. But hey, you should know that could be one of our differences. Or May be, which probably is, one of our commonalities!

For example, Mumbai Attack - IMO is because of the difference of opinion between blatant religious followers who never learnt to respect differences. Or, the massive jobs cut along with the continually downward economy - IMO is because of cognitive dissonance, ultra optimism or pessimism. Put a considerable difference margin before you make a decision.

Differences do not necessarily lead to destruction. Some people make a difference - so they lead. Differences is one of the sole reason we come up with great ideas. Had it not been different ways of cognition on things, i'd have been scribing these words on some rock.

I wouldnt say let there be no religion as John Lennon said. I say let there be differences among us, but let us learn to appreciate, collaborate and move forward learning from the differences we possess. Let there be many cultures, diverse faces in the community, and let us just change our thoughts - to appreciate that we have different thoughts and that we are all different!

It is complex i know - cos that beats the whole purpose of being different when we all agree to have similar thoughts. But hey, why not make it a commonality while you still remain different in many other things!

Pretty Long, huh!

It came to me that this place was abandoned. The place i was FOR myself , the place i was WITHIN me and the place where i apparently had verbal orgies! Or is that an overstatement?

Lots happened, and no updates - i must have been lazy!

Got an internship at an organization that promises me full time and sponsorship and what not! And a verse strikes me "The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But i have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep". Its a good time nevertheless, seeing that networks over here are equally messy/mismanaged as it was in my `con-tree`. I guess, that's what i got hired for. And though not bounded to wireless only, i am a wireless engineering intern. Lots of line ups for things that i need to study for the RF and signals domain. It is interesting though.

Few weeks back , i played on a concert opening up for some established artists. With so much respect for them, we went on a bar after our performance! And when we came back, the show had finished. Luckily, people called at the middle of their show and said, we want you guys back in stage, as people are running away! I am sure, they played good music, but may be they lacked dashing performers! If you know what i mean! Youth Power! Or, may be the guy who called was just a young crowd too! We are all YOUNG - if you ask me.
The band formed in some 2 weeks' time before the show and we called it "MOJO". Utter it once, and you're sure to do it again! "MOJO MOJO"! There you go.

We do have a concert lined up within a month from now, so if you happen to pass by, you're welcome to attend. It'd mostly be Nepali 'rock' numbers along with Steppenwolf's
born to be wild! (heavy metal thunder) and may be an iron maiden track "losfer words". We still got a month. We jammed this weekend for a start, and it wasnt bad at all. Guys were enthusiastic about making it happen this time!

So, what else?

Academics - Talk NOT!

Sleep - my sleeping pattern has changed!

Relationship - Oh well! No date.

Hair - I had some spikes few days before. It wasn't that bad either.

Alcohol - Do i even need to say? I just got back with memories of German beers at Oktoberfest yesterday.

Places - None. I seem to love my zip code! : ) (Commute to work - exception)

Trauma/Insanity - it seems to be in a dormant stage! Somebody wake the Satan in me!

And i am suddenly blank. I will try to frequent more. Please enjoy the song!

14 - An Elucidation

1. Fourteen is my favorite number.
2. Two Lucky Sevens equal Fourteen. Fuck it - i am happy-go-lucky!
3. I have lived "four" teens! (A Musician , A Geek, A Hopeless Romantic, A Wanna-be misanthropist.)
4. 14 - Atomic Number for Silicon .. Oh wait, SILICON - is that what my life's revolving around?
5. Fourteen is an unlucky number to the Chinese. You must have got an idea now to what i am referring to!
6. Fourteen is a composite number. No doubt i am complex.
7. 7 * 2 should be Fourteen, right on! That makes me crazy! :P
8. 14 - The number of days in a Fortnight... I absolutely love mid-month crises!
9. 14 is the number of lines in a sonnet. Sonnet 116 - Shakespeare - I would write that if he hadn't.
10. Its been exactly 14 hours since NOON : )
11. It didnt take me 14 minutes to come up with this blog. Took more! - I am honest.
12. Believe it or not, Count the number of words in this sentence - exactly fourteen.
13. I am fourteen days ahead of getting a year older.
14. This has to be the fourteenth point. Precisely!

Sleepless!

Probably, its got to do with me having too much time to waste - even sleep dont mesmerize me anymore.

For the creators of sleep - you surely knew how to save energy.

My work has been confined to reducing energy consumption on devices by making them sleep more when not in action. And Look at me, i have been exactly the opposite! Talk about hypocrisy!

I learnt recently that there are stages of Sleep. Check on Wiki and you'll find that there are stages like :

1. The brain transforms from Alpha waves (8-13Hz) to Theta waves (4-7Hz). Thats the time when i lose conscious awareness of my environment.
2. Then Sleep Spindles(12-16Hz) and K-Complexes take over me. The conscious awareness completely disappears.
3. Delta Waves and Delta Rhythms (0.5-4Hz) assists me for a deep sleep with less than 50% of total wave-patterns.
4. The delta waves make up for more than 50% at the final stage of my sleep, where i go completely sleeping!

So, to sum it up , and as per my source of wiki , i go onto sleep with stages as below.
1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 3 , 2 , REM (Rapid Eye Movement)
(the 4 stages are characterized into NREM (Non-Rapid Eye Movement))

Anyway, Late Night Sleeping : but i still do maintain my required sleeping hours to 7-8.

I am drinking now. (Lots of water - for a change today ) , cos i knew alcohol might suppress my later stages of sleep. : )

Good Night People! Sleep Well! : )

ELF - Cartoonist ?

Alright Guys ! I dont know how it hit me but here's it for a start!

As equivocal as my blog has been, so would be my cartoons. If i ever continue, that is! : ) Anyway .. too much of listening to "What breaks a heart" might have had this imagination come to my mind right now. I promise, it'll have some humor later on. LOL, if you dont laugh at this again! :P

Beyond this turmoil , I must Flee!

Of all that we are seeing, and yet to see, its HIGH time we make choices of expanding our community to Moon or Mars. I agree with Stephen Hawking. We should be establishing colonies on Moon and Mars. We must avoid Earth as catastrophes like nuclear war / climate changes / natural disaster are bound to make living extremely difficult. Read the link above and there are such great insights , rather plans.

- Moon , the base to other planets of the Solar System. Sounds like a pretty decent Space-Hub!
- Mars would be Google's GRAND DATA CENTER spot.
- My dream of working on Inter-Planetary Networks would come true, possibly, if i get hired.
- Every Country would reserve the place for their "just in case" situation.
- Rich would be out of earth on vacations , and perhaps reserving their lands too.
- Poverty / Gravity on earth - both are inevitable. Rich would escape them, of course!
- A day will come, the Capitalists would have a different planet!
- There would be inter-planetary relationships, a new name to long distance relationship. As an outcome of that, people would grow more into telepathy sort of relationships, than physical! inter-planetary relationships!
- Slowly earth will see a brain drain.
- Geniuses vs Patriots! WAR!
- Pollute the Solar System.
- Some other Professor somewhere in one of those planets would be planning for an outreach toward some other Galaxies.
- Who gets the right to escape earth first ? MONKEYS too ?

Uff , i guess i am simply making some noise here. But anyway the endless possibilities is interesting, isnt it? We think NOT about problems that we could solve , but about ways we can escape those problems, "just in case" ! Bravo Humanity!

Whoops !

I must have been in a disarray. Nothing can stop me write. Not even ME!

Met some employers and one of them on the interviews asked me more "Music" questions than technical ones. He was wondering how we listened and played American Rock music living in a country Americans(He) don't know about. Even the impression led me for a follow-up interview and who knows a job right away. I told him i was looking for the prospect than the job that was in hand, as i was over qualified for that.

Yes, Kansas City was fun. We had been there on the day of the match when Kansas was playing against North Carolina for the Final Four NCAA College Basketball. I supported Kansas City (no-1 seed), of course. And the same day, we had the college basketball experience at the Sprint Center. I was all sweat! There was this newly opened bounded place called the Power and Light District in downtown, where all we did was cheered up Kansas. There were like 2500 people around, boozing! Couldnt have been more fun!

Forgot to mention, we visited arts and museums. In fact, TWO. The art at the museum totally inspired me, cos it was all history reflected. I must say, i must have been old enough to actually be liking arts and orchestras! At a different place, it was the contemporary arts and guess what! Three Colors on a Canvas, and thats an art. : ) I hated starting off with a decision-tree based story written on the wall at that place, apparently cos it was a detective story and i ended up being killed.

Anyway, it was fun . Good thing, Kansas won the NCAA title in the finals, two days later. The City is all Basketball! And, yes, i do love basketball. No offense to my paunch today, but i was a member of the Basketball Club in my High School. And i played real hard, despite my height! :P I played late night indoor soccer yesterday and i was all panting on a single run on the field, but that was solely for fun and assessing if i lost my stamina completely or is there any chance, i can regain some!

The only thing i havent been able to do, this week, is synchronization. I cant synchronize my "TODOs". I cant synchronize my protocol! Synchronization itself would be a dissertation topic, and i am taking much time even for a work around. Anyway, hopefully, i get synchronized pretty quick with the research, as i did with my blog!

No . This isnt ending so soon ! You gotta bear me more.

An Inspiring Quote i read on the Museum, inscribed in the building.
The Soul has greater need of the IDEAL, than of the REAL
