What important is 2008 to you?
To me: is just another year ahead.
People make new year resolutions for the upcoming year. We made a 5-day trip to enjoy the last few days we had left for 2007. 2008 starts from today: so what!!! I may even remain without partying for the start of the new year, but man, how can i miss 2007 who was just leaving then. Now that it has left, i have memories hovering; which again is sure to fade. The last few days: I created those memories. Those were good. A Good Break off all the semesters-work, research-work and what not!
Btw, the good news started with my paper being accepted for publishing in the IEEE and the semester ending: having completed all required work. 4 people, collected friends to visit, places to crash into, rented a car and zoomed off to a trip to the south. Friends wouldn't know until last few hours that we are crashing at their place for the nights. Lots of Reunions!!! Music Fiesta!!! Professor Bashes! Location Bashes! Historical Places Visit! Man, i don't know how to start.
Let me point out in brief with keywords. I know, i am that kinda person who would read this blog at some time in future and smile over the time spent on these words.
We started off at Friday. Musical Party, Wichita, KS: I played saxophone for the first time ;P (at least got a picture taken). Jammed up with my friend after like 8 years. He had instruments more than i have girls! whatever that means! LOL. It took us some time to leave Wichita as we had a flat tire. Later on came to know (after a wait for around 2 hours for the AAA to come) that it was only low on air and the cold caused it.
Visited universities, everywhere we could. Of course compared it with ours. On probability of seeing girls read novels by the fountain, and us being HAPPY seeing plenty of them around: i rank "University of Central Oklahoma", Edmond, OK, the best.
Norman stay was wonderful with barbecue on chattu's place. Location bashing continued then, each promoting their own city for the other to visit. More interestingly, the discussion concluded that there was nothing on both cities, giving a blow to Arts Center, Museums and so on that might have been on those cities : but least interesting to us.
Then, we drove further south to Texas : the land of the cowboys. We landed in for some cheap chicken biryani and tandoori: at some Indian restaurant in Texas .. oh damn!! All the time, i was skeptical about the birdie being one of the black kind. If you remember the movie "run". That was highly probable because if we had that food at our place, it would cost at least 2 hours more work with my professor. Dallas was fun! Meeting Friends was `funner`! Pulchowk Campus Reunion was the `funnest`.
Some interesting improvements over our previous trips:
- Had alcohol every night on every halts. Had so much fun talking and meeting people that there were no hangovers the other day.
- 4 People : 4 Drivers !!! A lot comfortable for all of us.
- Met lots of friends everywhere.
- With a GPS navigator, driving was a piece of cake. (though there had been discussions when there was a MAP ERROR, not software error! )
- Visited lot of universities ( Three in Oklahoma state only , UCO, OSU, OU).
- One of our friends discovered a unique idea of photography. [ Take at least 3 fast snaps on a single pose, and chose the best out of those for `facebook` ] .
- Had a nice jam up with a long-time friend. A nice comeback for our fusion concert, which we still dream to perform sometime in future.
- Friends we visited and them getting jobs! They were lucky we were there! :P
Back to Omaha, and went to a Chinese Buffet. Man, that was awesome! New Year Day, and the chinese were selling out! We had to wait for 5 minutes for a table.
Long Live Memories of 2007!!! (as if)
and Happy New Year 2008 to All! ( how could i forget)
